Flash Back Track of the Week...

The Prodigy released this track on their 1997 album ‘The Fat of the Land’ (also known for other big hits like Firestarter, Smack My Bitch Up, and Breathe). There are 3 credited samples on ‘Funky Shit’: the riff is from ‘The Theme from S.W.A.T’ by Rhythm Heritage, the vocal “Break!” is sampled from ‘2,3, Break’ by ‘The B-Boys’, and last but not least, the main vocal “Oh my god that’s the funky shit!” is a Beastie Boys sample from “Root Down”!

Personally I prefer the drum n’ bass mix by Aphrodite…
